Protected Areas
with Nature Conservancy of Canada

The Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) works to protect Canada’s most precious natural places — empowering people to safeguard the lands and waters that sustain life.

/01CONTEXT

The Nature Conservancy of Canada focus their efforts in areas where species and ecosystems face the greatest threats. Conservation scientists help identify these priority areas, and the NCC collaborates with local landowners, communities, conservation authorities, and the government to secure their protection.

/02CHALLENGE

To further the fundraising and conservation campaigns of the Nature Conservancy of Canada, we set out to craft videos showcasing several properties, both under NCC management and those poised for inclusion. Using an aerial perspective, we needed to highlight each landscape’s distinct and important characteristics.

/03SOLUTION

Evermaven’s skilled drone pilots, working closely with local experts, identified the defining features of NCC properties. Capturing a myriad of perspectives, we then married the aerial footage with ambient sounds and curated music to showcase these landscapes.

After production, these videos were integral to NCC’s conservation efforts. By the summer of 2018, in collaboration with its partners, the NCC successfully preserved 2.5 kilometres of untouched Lake Ontario shoreline and 231 acres of vital coastal wetland, now celebrated as the Brighton Wetland.
